Exceptional dining experience with locally sourced ingredients.
The shower was stained and could use a good deep clean.

We had a lovely stay while cycling around Kielder, and it was great to have a safe spot for our bikes overnight. The cozy beer garden had stunning views, and we enjoyed relaxing by the log fire in the evening. The only thing I wished for was a bit more cushioning on the dining chairs because they were quite firm, but that didn’t really take away from our fun. 😊

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere was warm, making it easy to relax.
Overall experience was slightly marred by room cleanliness.

Oh, the food at Hollybush Inn is an absolute gem! Those steaks were the stuff of legends and the Reiver Pie? To die for! Plus, the staff were lovely, making you feel right at home with their warmth and attentiveness. Our room was a cozy spot to crash too, super clean and comfy. Can’t forget the stunning views from the beer garden, perfect for a pint.
A cheeky bit of noise from the room above the bar, but it didn’t bother us much.

Impeccable cleanliness in the Budget Double Room stood out, with delightful en-suite facilities. Breakfast included a superb vegetarian option, while the evening meal, especially the perfectly cooked steak and scampi, was a highlight. some areas could benefit from better sound insulation due to adjoining rooms being noticeable. Despite this, the warm and friendly interaction with staff and locals elevated the experience significantly, offering a welcoming atmosphere.

I stayed for two nights in the cream room, one of the largest options available. It felt more like a suite with separate areas. The room was comfortable, but being above the bar meant I could hear some noise, especially during busy hours. The staff made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. They were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, and the evening meals truly stood out. The chef's attention to detail was impressive, especially with the lentil and red wine soup. The outdoor seating area had stunning views, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Parking was a bit tight at times, which can be a hassle, especially during peak hours. it’s a charming place with heaps of character, but if you're sensitive to noise, stay away from the bar area.

Perfect stop for a cycling trip
We had a fab weekend staying with friends while cycling around Kielder Water. Our Blue Room was cozy, but the tiny bathroom was a bit cramped for two. The beer garden is a great spot with amazing valley views. Breakfast was top-notch, served by a super friendly lady. Just wished the dinner menu had a few more options.

Stunning countryside views from the beer garden really elevated the experience, perfect for unwinding with a drink after a long day. The log fire added a cozy touch, making the ambiance delightful, especially during colder evenings.
The room I stayed in, while tidy, felt quite cramped, especially the bathroom which had limited space. The restaurant's menu could use some improvement. I found the dining options somewhat lacking and could have benefited from more variety and freshness, particularly during off-peak times.

The warm ambience with the log fire made me feel cozy, and the decor had a charming, rustic style. Navigating the cozy spaces was easy, which was perfect for my mobility needs during our stay.
More seating options would be beneficial.

A great stay with friends! We loved the ambiance by the log fire and enjoyed visiting the nearby Kielder Water and Forest Park. Lynn and John were fantastic hosts who made us feel welcome despite our late arrival. Breakfast was delicious, with vegan options available. It’s a charming place for anyone wanting a cozy pub experience.
Just a heads up, the dining options may not cater well to everyone’s taste. One review mentioned disappointing food quality, so it might be worth checking the menu in advance.
